Enhanced mechanical properties and in vitro corrosion behavior of amorphous and devitrified Ti40Zr10Cu38Pd12 metallic glass

► The use of Ti40Zr10Cu38Pd12 metallic glass for orthopedic implants is investigated. ► The changes in microstructure, mechanical and corrosion properties of this alloy during heat-treatments are studied. ► The hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance improve during partial or full crystallization of the glassy alloy.
