Real-time study of a DNA strand displacement reaction using dual polarization interferometry

► We monitor the whole process of DNA strand displacement reaction in real time. ► We present the accurate values of displacement efficiency for the first time. ► DNA cannot be replaced entirely on the interface of solid-liquid. ► The displacement efficiency increases with increased bonding force of base pairs. ► The displacement efficiency increases with increased toehold length.
