► NTS-PGi-LC-CA1 pathway is involved object recognition (OR) memory consolidation. ► NTS, PGi and LC inhibition impairs OR memory consolidation. ► CA1's ß-adrenergic receptors activation is necessary for consolidation of OR. ► NA infusion in CA1 was able to reverse the inhibition of the medullary nuclei. ► NMDA infusion in LC shares the effect of NA into CA1.
