Examining the economic feasibility of miscanthus in Ontario: An application to the greenhouse industry

► We estimate a breakeven price of $88.02/t for miscanthus production in Ontario. ► Sensitivity analysis indicates a range of breakeven prices of $77.79/t-$105.08/t. ► We convert these prices to a cost/GJ of energy for the greenhouse industry. ► We find miscanthus to be competitive with costs of non-renewable energy sources.
