Collective burials among agro-pastoral societies in later Neolithic Germany: perspectives from ancient DNA

► We carried out aDNA analysis of human remains from later Neolithic collective burials. ► Eight individuals show four distinct mtDNA haplotypes. ► Haplogroups H, HV0, X2 are present. ► Shared haplotypes are present within and between two burials. ► Results may reflect that descent relations were important in monumental burials.
