Acute respiratory and cardiovascular health effects of an air pollution event, January 2013, Jinan, China

- An investigation of the acute health effect and haze event was conducted in Jinan's only children's hospital and the hotline-based Jinan Medical Emergency Center.
- A significant increase was observed both in emergency department visits and respiratory disease emergency department visits to the children's hospital and the frequency of respiratory disease calls to Jinan Medical Emergency Center.
