Axisymmetric magnetic vortices with swirl

► We construct axisymmetric vortices with swirl and toroidal magnetic field. ► We derive results for thin core rings and spherical vortices. ► We present an unsteady contour dynamics formulation. ► An initial condition in the form of a ring splits into dipolar tori.
