Synthesis of amino acid conjugates of tetrahydrocurcumin and evaluation of their antibacterial and anti-mutagenic properties

► Synthesis of novel amino acid conjugates of THC is reported. ► The amino-acid conjugates of THC exhibited more potent anti-microbial activity than THC. ► New THC derivatives showed antimutagenic property superior to THC at much lower concentrations. ► The molecules could have potential food and pharmacological uses.
