Metabolism studies of benzbromarone in rats by high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometry

► A fast method was developed to identify the metabolites of benzbromarone in rats. ► Seventeen metabolites were obtained. ► Two phase I metabolites and four phase II metabolites were rarely reported before. ► The work gave us a new insight into the metabolic fate of benzbromarone in vivo. ► More information about the cleavage rules of compounds by ESI-QTOF was collected.
