Continuous aqueous two-phase extraction of human antibodies using a packed column

► We evaluated the performance of a pilot scale packed column for the continuous extraction of IgG. ► Aqueous two-phase systems of PEG and salt enable IgG recoveries yields of 85%. ► 85% of total protein contaminants were removed. ► The mass transfer was controlled by the PEG-rich phase.
