An improved method for the detection and enrichment of low-abundant membrane and lipid raft-residing proteins

► Improved detection and enrichment of a low abundant membrane protein is described. ► A modified cell lysis buffer gave significant increase in protein detection. ► Antibody crosslinked to beads in co-IP gave significantly higher protein yield. ► 0.1% formic acid elution and on-bead digestion for LC/MS-MS analysis is suitable. ► This method can be for enrichment and native purification of low-abundant membrane proteins.
