Studies of mixed liposomes with novel sorbyl functionalized head group lipids

► Three novel polymerizable amphiphiles with sorbyl-substituted head group were synthesized. ► Physical characteristics of these molecules were studied. ► Mixing properties of these molecules with natural lipids were investigated using Langmuir isotherms. ► The sorbyl groups on the bulky head groups of these molecules form polymers.
