Characterization of the PEG layer of sterically stabilized liposomes: a SAXS study

► SAXS analysis of sterically stabilized liposomes is presented. ► The thickness of the PEG layer is characterized by describing the bilayer electron density profile with the superposition of Gaussian functions. ► The resulted PEG layer thickness is in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
