ZnS/ZnO heterojunction as photoelectrode: Type II band alignment towards enhanced photoelectrochemical performance

► ZnS/ZnO shell/core nanorod arrays were prepared via sulfidization following hydrothermal process. ► The morphologies and structures of the composite heterojunction are characterized; especially the energy band alignment. ► The type II band alignment helps improve the PEC performance.
