Improved solvation routes for the Bunsen reaction in the sulphur iodine thermochemical cycle: Part II - Molecular solvent properties

► Molecular solvents are investigated as solvents for the Bunsen reaction. ► DBBP and Cyanex® 923 both perform as well as or better than TBP. ► Thermal recovery of HI from DBBP not possible due to solvent degradation. ► Partial success recovering HI from Cyanex® 923 thermally and backwashing with water.
