Effect of boric acid on thermal dehydrogenation of ammonia borane: Mechanistic studies

► Boric acid is a promising additive for AB thermolysis. ► High H2 yield was obtained at 85 °C, along with rapid kinetics. ► Only trace amount of ammonia (20-30 ppm) is produced during reaction. ► Spent AB products are found to be polyborazylene-like species.
