Analysis of gas products from direct utilization of carbon in a solid oxide fuel cell

► Direct utilization of solid carbon in a solid oxide fuel cell was demonstrated. ► Boudouard reaction can be observed from the operation of carbon fuel cell. ► Addition of CO2 and CO results in an increase in the carbon fuel cell performance. ► Electricity is mainly produced from carbon at low current density. ► Electricity is mainly produced from CO at high current density.
