Flexible, metal-free composite counter electrodes for efficient fiber-shaped dye-sensitized solar cells

► Flexible metal-free electrodes with core/shell structure were fabricated. ► Their electrochemical performances were systematically investigated. ► Fiber-shaped dye-sensitized solar cells were fabricated with fibrous electrodes. ► The amount of PEDOT:PSS and the diameters of the electrodes were optimized.
