Electrodeposition of Zn and Zn-Mn alloy coatings from an electrolytic bath prepared by recovery of exhausted zinc-carbon batteries

► We have prepared an electrolytic bath by recovery of exhausted zinc-carbon batteries. ► Polyethylene glycol was used as an additive in the electrolytic bath. ► The presence of the additive favored the formation of Zn-Mn alloy coatings.
