Structural properties and electrochemistry of α-LiFeO2

► Revisited structural and electrochemical features of the cubic α-LiFeO2 phase. ► α-LiFeO2 belongs to the class of Fe-diluted magnetic semiconductors regarding its magnetic properties, which is due to the random dilution of Fe on octahedral sites. ► Iron oxidation transformation from Fe3+-Fe4+ to Fe4+-Fe2+ is observed for the first charge-discharge. ► XRD and Raman analysis of post-mortem LiFeO2 electrode.
