A strategy for optical site-specific oxygen sensing: Construction and characterization of a Ru(II)-modified magnetic-luminescent hybrid composite

We incorporated Fe3O4 particles into MCM-41 with a core-shell structure. This composite was modified with a Ru(II) complex to evaluate its emission response to O2 molecules. Oxygen sensing measurement suggested that the emission of this composite decreased with increasing O2 concentrations, showing sensitivity of 5.5 and response time of 15 s.
