A new type of chiral pentacoordinated silicon compounds with azomethine ligands made from acetylacetone and amino acids

A straightforward synthesis for chiral pentacoordinate silicon complexes has been developed. The stereochemical information is retained in the complexes, no racemization has been observed during complex formation.
