Mono- and dinuclear uranyl(VI) complexes with chiral Schiff base ligand

► Two chiral mono- and dinuclear uranyl-salen-pyrene complexes have been crystallized. ► In both complexes the uranium centres are seven-coordinated in a bipyramidal pentagonal geometry. ► The μ2-OH group bridges uranyl(VI) ions forming a double-stranded helical dimer with M handedness. ► Weak H-bond and cation⋯π interactions are the driving forces ruling crystal packing.
