Hydrogen sulfide activation in hemeproteins: The sulfheme scenario

Sulfheme proteins have been implicated in H2S metabolism. This review is aimed at describing the structural and functional aspects of the sulfheme complex in heme containing proteins. Here, we postulate a generalized mechanism for the sulfheme protein formation.
