Intramolecular C-H activation by air-stable Pt(II) phosphite complexes

Air-stable phosphite ligands were synthesized without added external base. Organoplatinum(II) complexes of the air-stable bulky phosphite ligands have been synthesized and characterized. These compounds are very robust and can be stored on the bench without decomposition. Upon thermolysis at 100 °C, these complexes cyclometallate via intramolecular sp3 C-H activation.
