The Wade-Mingos rules in seven-vertex dimetallaborane chemistry: Hydrogen-rich Cp2M2B5H9 systems of the second and third row transition metals

The lowest energy structures of the dimetallaboranes Cp2M2B5H9 are shown to have nido 7-vertex geometries derived from the bisdisphenoid by removal of a degree 5 vertex (M = Ir, Ru, Os), capped octahedral geometries (M = Re), and/or bicapped trigonal bipyramidal geometries (M = Ru, Os, Mo, W, Ta).190
