Recent developments with strained metallocenophanes

Recent contributions to the field of strained metallocenophanes from our group, as well as others, are described. Thermally-induced C-C bond cleavage reactions, redox-induced reactivity, and the formation of chiral and magnetic materials are discussed for the metallocenophanes of iron, ruthenium, cobalt and nickel, respectively.
