Microwave-assisted synthesis of N-heterocycle-based organometallics

Organometallic metal-arene dimers (M = Ru, Os, Rh, Ir) were reacted with N-heterocycles under microwave conditions. The chosen reaction settings reduce the reaction times to 1-2 min without loss of yield. This approach can be utilized for the rapid synthesis of metallodrug precursors.
