Glycosides of naphthohydroquinones and anthraquinones isolated from the aerial parts of Morinda parvifolia Bartl. ex DC (Rubiaceae) increase p53 mRNA expression in A2780 cells

A phytochemical investigation of the aerial parts of M. parvifolia led to the isolation of eight previously undescribed glycosides of naphthohydroquinones. The mRNA expression of p53 in A2780 cells was significantly increased by these compounds at the concentration of 50 μM compared with the blank control group.259
