Triterpenoid saponins from the pulp of Sapindus mukorossi and their antifungal activities

Seventeen triterpenoid saponins, including 5 previously undescribed compounds, were isolated from the extract of Sapindus mukorossi Gaertn. pulps. Their structures were elucidated by HR-ESI-MS, spectroscopic techniques, and chemical methods. All the isolated compounds were evaluated for their antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Trichophyton rubrum. Some of the tested compounds showed moderate antifungal activity.257
