Preparation and characterization of magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes/ferrite nanocomposite and its application for the removal of aniline from aqueous solution

► Ferrite nanoparticles (NiFe2O4) were prepared using sol-gel auto-combustion method. ► Different characterization tools confirm the preparation of the ferrite nanoparticles. ► Magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/NiFe2O4 nanocomposite was prepared by physical mixing. ► Characterization techniques verified that nanocrystallites of the ferrite aggregated around the MWCNTs homogenously. ► The prepared magnetic nanocomposite was then used for the removal of aniline from aqueous solution.
