Study of the elastic properties of (PbO)x(P2O5)1 − x lead phosphate glass using an ultrasonic technique

► Elastic properties of binary lead phosphate glasses were studied by ultrasound. ► Addition of PbO in glass network increased the densities of glasses. ► Pb2 + acts as a network modifier and reduces the NBOs in the network. ► The rigidity, velocity and elasticity of glasses increased with increasing PbO.
