Growth and characterization of a new non-linear optical tris lead tris barium borate (TLTBB) single crystal

▶ Research in borate crystals remains strong to this date due to the commercial applications of these materials as laser hosts, non-linear optical (NLO) elements and in UV optics. ▶ In the present work, an attempt has been made to grow a new mixed borate crystal with controlled and desirable composition, structure and properties. ▶ This work deals with the growth of inorganic single crystal of tris lead tris barium borate (TLTBB) by conventional slow solvent evaporation method. ▶ The crystal exhibits a high SHG efficiency among the available solution grown NLO crystals of borate family.
