Analysis of the impact of alloy microstructural properties on passive films formed on low-C 13CrNiMo martensitic stainless steels

▶ Anodic films on super martensitic SS are influenced by HTs via microstructural modifications. ▶ Higher retained austenite amounts preserve higher Cr contents and lead to thicker anodic films. ▶ This beneficial microstructure is also related to higher rates of anodic film formation.
