The behaviour of FeCrAl alloy with a silica-rich ceramic coating SiO2-Al2O3 under high temperature oxidation conditions and thermal shocks

▶ SiO2-Al2O3 coatings improve FeCrAl alloy's resistance to high-temperature oxidation. ▶ Protection effectiveness of ceramic coatings increase with increase number of layers. ▶ During annealing at 1200 °C the surface of FeCrAl alloy enriches in aluminium. ▶ Aluminosilicates formed during annealing characterize small degree of crystallinity. ▶ The crystallization of aluminosilicates depend on Al2O3 content and temperature.
