Length scale dependent yield strength and fatigue behavior of nanocrystalline Cu thin films

► Maxima are observed for both the yield strength and fatigue lifetime in Cu films. ► Fatigue damage changes from extrusions to boundary cracks as length scale decreases. ► Size-dependent fatigue behaviors are explained by deformation mechanism transition.
