The work presents attempts to produce an amorphous-crystalline composite alloy containing two amorphous phases. The TCMS (two-component melt-spinning) method was used for this purpose and two alloys were used. The first Fe40Ni40P10Si5B5 alloy presented a homogeneous single liquid phase and the other was the Fe70Cu10P10Si5B5 liquid immiscible alloy. The latter was examined using a MWIR (mid-wave infra-red) camera. On the basis of thermal tests of the Fe70Cu10P10Si5B5 alloy, a suitable ejection temperature was chosen. The microstructure, phase composition and thermal stability of the obtained TCMS alloy were investigated. This revealed the band-like amorphous and amorphous/crystalline areas arranged along the melt-spinning direction. Crystallization of the TCMS Fe55Ni20Cu5P10Si5B5 alloy upon heating includes a series of peaks that are present due to the differentiated chemical composition of the band-like microstructure formed by the precursor alloys. The TCMS method also results in a higher content of the amorphous phase than in the case of using a standard single crucible melt spinning.
