In the present paper, we reported a resistance type metal oxide semiconductor gas sensor based on platinum (Pt) activated titanium dioxide-molybdenum disulfide (TiO2-MoS2) nanocomposites. The TiO2-MoS2 nanocomposites were synthesized via a two-step hydrothermal method. Pt was added into the composites by dipping the composites into the ethanol solution of chloroplatinic acid and then annealed at 400â¯Â°C. The FE-SEM and TEM images showed the morphologies of the as-synthesized composites. Different mass ratios of TiO2 and MoS2 were attempted and the optimal composite was obtained. The hydrogen gas sensing properties of the sensors based on the optimal composite at operating temperature from room temperature to 150â¯Â°C were characterized, which indicated that the optimal operating temperature was 100â¯Â°C. The sensor also showed good selectivity to other flammable gases. In addition, we confirmed that Pt played an important role in enhancing the sensing performance.
