												Owing to the high energy density and low cost, Li-S batteries are received intensive attention for the next generation energy storage devices. Due to the dissolution of intermediate Li2Sn (4 < n â¤Â 8), S is needed to be loaded onto substrate to confine it. Up to now, most of the loaded S are particles. The morphology of the loaded S influences the performance. Herein, we find that the deposited S on the surface of carbon shows the nano-layer morphology. And solid electrolyte interface forms on the surface of the layer. The most vital issue is that it exhibits outstanding cycle-stability, after 300 cycles, 98% capacity (754 mAh gâ1) is retained at 0.5 C. And the nano-layer is kept after long-term cycles, which indicates the nano-layer has well structure stability and plays the role of restraining the dissolution of intermediate Li2Sn (4 < n â¤Â 8) during long-term cycles.
