Al2O3 nanoparticle addition to concentrated magnesium alloy AZ81: Enhanced ductility

► Al2O3 nanoparticles were successfully integrated with concentrated magnesium alloy AZ81 in extruded form. ► An enhancement of tensile ductility without significant compromise in strength of alloy AZ81 was observed. ► An enhancement of compressive ductility without significant compromise in strength of alloy AZ81 was also observed.
