Effects of Zn addition and aging treatment on tensile properties of Sn-Ag-Cu alloys

► Addition of small amounts of Zn to Sn-Ag-Cu leads to an increase in flow stress. ► The Sn-1Ag-0.3Cu-1Zn alloy exhibits higher flow stress than the Sn-3Ag-0.5Cu alloy. ► Addition of Zn to Sn-Ag-Cu suppressed the deterioration of flow stress after the aging treatment. ► Zn addition to Sn-Ag-Cu alloys inhibited the growth of intermetallic compounds.
