Enhanced ionic conductivity and chemical stability of Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 by doping of WO3

Lithium conducting material Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 was synthesized via solid state reaction and WO3 was added in different weight percentages to investigate its influence on ionic conductivity and chemical stability. The total conductivity and chemical stability was both enhanced by the introduction of WO3 and the optimal doping amount was 5% by weight. The maximum total conductivity reached 5.49 × 10−4 S·cm−1. SEM and XRD examinations confirmed that W was successfully incorporated into the lattice of Li1.3Al0.3Ti1.7(PO4)3 instead of agglomerated at grain boundaries.
