Magnesium hydroxide/magnesium phosphate compounds composite coating for corrosion protection of magnesium alloy by a combination process of chemical conversion and steam curing

► A novel combination process to prepare highly anticorrosive film was developed. ► The films were composed of magnesium phosphate compounds and magnesium hydroxide. ► The films showed a good corrosion resistance.
