A high temperature route to the formation of highly pure quaternary chalcogenide particles

► Pure quaternary chalcogenide compounds were synthesized in molten KSCN at 400 °C. ► Obtention of Cu2CoSnS4 and Cu2ZnSnS4 was demonstrated (XRD ,Raman spectroscopy). ► The high temperature route yields highly crystallized compounds. ► Chemical homogeneity of the precursors dictates the primary crystallites size.
