Formation of grid-like mesoporous titania film via structural transformation and its surface superhydrophilicity conversion

► 3D hexagonal mesoporous TiO2 films are synthesized using a TBT-P123-BuOH-HCl system. ► 3D hexagonal mesostructure depends on high humidity and heat-treating process. ► 3D hexagonal mesostructure transforms to grid-like mesostructure with open porosity. ► The surface superhydrophilicity conversion is achieved without UV irradiation.
