An investigation on oxidation, hot corrosion and mechanical properties of plasma-sprayed conventional and nanostructured YSZ coatings

► Oxidation and hot corrosion resistance of plasma-sprayed nanostructured YSZ were studied. ► Thermal cycles, nanoindentation, and bond strength of the coatings were studied. ► Nanostructured YSZ showed better oxidation and hot corrosion resistance than conventional YSZ. ► Nanostructured YSZ coating showed better mechanical properties than conventional one.
