A study of the characteristics of aeolian sand activity and the effects of a comprehensive protective system in a coastal dune area in southern China

► The formation conditions and total characteristics of aeolian sand activity on dune coastal zone are detailed analysis. ► A series of technical measures including dike, Nylon nets and planting Cynodon dactylon et al is established on coastal zone. ► The comprehensive protective system has the function of breakwater, blocking sand, stabilizing sand and transport sand. ► The protective system not only protected the installations but also achieved better ecological returns at research area.
