Partial safety factor system for Tetrapod armor layer depending on shape parameter of extreme wave height distribution

► A partial safety factor system (PSFS) is developed for Tetrapod armor layer. ► A large number of structural and wave data are used for the development of the PSFS. ► The PSFS depends on the shape parameter of the extreme wave height distribution. ► The PSFS can also be used for the distributions that do not include a shape parameter. ► The developed system is applied to existing structures to examine its applicability.
