Impact of a uniform bore on an erodible beach

► We investigate the effect of a uniform bore on an erodible beach. ► A characteristic method is utilised in order to provide high accuracy. ► A bed step associated with the backwash bore is found. ► The predicted volume of sand deposited is consistent with some observations.
