Hydromechanical characterization of CO2 injection sites

► We propose a hydromechanical characterization test at the field scale. ► It consists in injecting water at high pressure and monitor pressure and strain. ► We perform a dimensional analysis of the hydromechanical equation and obtain curves. ► Induced microseismicity is more likely to occur in the aquifer than in the caprock. ► Onset of microseismicity in the caprock sets the max sustainable injection pressure.
